The OmniSuit (also from Auxivo) is the evolution of soft exoskeletons, as it is an “all-in-one” system. While the LiftSuit we saw before focused on the midsection, the OmniSuit extends support to the upper body.
It is the answer to the need for an exoskeleton that can handle the entire vertical range of motion, from the floor to overhead.
What makes it “Omni”?
Its innovation lies in the dual support mechanism that works collaboratively:
Shoulder Support: It has built-in elements that compensate for the weight of the hands and tools. When the worker raises his hands above shoulder height, the exoskeleton takes over to hold the weight, reducing pressure on the shoulders and neck.
Back Support: Similar to the LiftSuit, it activates when the user bends over, protecting the spine when lifting loads from below.
Why is it “Human-Centric”?
Unlike other exoskeletons that can be bulky, the OmniSuit is designed not to interfere with the wearer's natural proprioception (the sense of movement):
Seamless Switching: You can bend down to pick up a box and then immediately place it on a high shelf without having to adjust anything.
Hybrid Construction: Combines textile parts for comfort and lightweight mechanical elements for performance, keeping the overall weight very low (approximately 2.7 kg).
Adaptability: Allows adjustment of the intensity of the support, so that each worker can tailor it to their needs depending on the weight they are managing.
